Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm became the award winner of Legal Awards 2021 in nomination for the Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year in Ukraine. The winners of Legal Awards 2021 were announced on 4 June 2021.
Most of the pro bono projects are carried out by Ilyashev & Partners for individuals having no financial ability to make use of the paid legal services due to the difficult and trying circumstances.
In addition to individuals, Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm also advises humanitarian organization, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, on the day-to-day activities of the Society’s organizations at the national and local levels. The full range of legal services to the Ukrainian Red Cross Society is provided pro bono. The Ilyashev & Partners’ team has been working on the project since January 2020 under the guidance of Mikhail Ilyashev, Managing Partner.
In particular, in 2020, Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm put an end to the illegal use of the Red Cross Emblem by the large network of medical centers and pharmacies, which for a long time they had been using as their own trademark. The litigation initiated to terminate the violations related to the illegal use of the emblem became the pioneer case of the successful defense of the Red Cross Emblem in Ukraine.
In 2021, the Legal Awards were given in 52 nominations; the representatives of more than 65 Ukrainian law firms competed to get one. In total, about 300 nomination forms were submitted for consideration by the Nomination Commission. The event was organized by the Yurydychna Praktyka Publishing House.
