Experience

Marina Riashchenko specialises in international commercial and investment arbitration, representing clients in complex cross-border disputes involving private companies, state-owned enterprises, and sovereign parties. She acts in arbitration proceedings under the rules of the ICC, LCIA, SCC, VIAC, LMAA, GAFTA, FOSFA, ICAC at the Ukrainian CCI, as well as other international arbitral institutions. She also represents clients in related court proceedings in Cyprus, the BVI, Germany, the Czech Republic, Latvia, and other jurisdictions.

Marina has substantial experience in high-value disputes, including cases involving states and state-owned entities, investment arbitrations against states, and multi-layered proceedings with significant financial and political implications. Her practice covers the full life cycle of international arbitration – from developing legal strategy and preparing the evidentiary record to the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards in Ukraine and abroad.

A distinct strategic focus of her work is war damage recovery in Ukraine. Marina advises businesses on documenting and legally qualifying damage caused by armed aggression, developing strategies for bringing claims against the aggressor state and affiliated persons, and preparing materials for investment arbitrations and international compensation mechanisms. She supports clients in evidence preservation, loss assessment, and structuring legal recovery models in foreign jurisdictions.

Marina represents clients from the agribusiness, FMCG, defence and chemical sectors, as well as other industries that have suffered significant losses due to hostilities, breaches of international contracts, and sanctions restrictions. She has experience handling disputes related to export-import operations, sanctions regulations, and foreign investment protection.

As an international arbitration lawyer in Ukraine, Marina Riashchenko provides comprehensive representation in highly complex disputes. She combines expertise in private international law, arbitral practice, and cross-border enforcement mechanisms.
