Vadym Kizlenko, Counsel, Attorney at Law and Insolvency Receiver at Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm, Member of the Disciplinary Commission of Insolvency Receivers of Ukraine delivered a report entitled “Disciplinary practice” within the framework of the discussion called “Insolvency receiver profession” at the VI Restructuring and Bankruptcy Forum, which took place on 18 May 2021 in Kyiv. The event was hosted by Yurydychna Praktyka Publishing House.
In Vadym Kizlenko’s opinion, the work of the Disciplinary Commission of Insolvency Receivers of Ukraine must gain more publicity and in order to achieve this, the Code of Ukraine on Bankruptcy Procedures must be supplemented with a provision that would envisage public highlighting of the Commission’s meetings deliverables.
“Consisting of its competent members, the Disciplinary Commission has adopted the balanced, lawful and duly justified decisions at all times. For the time being, some 90 persons have been held disciplinarily liable, of whom only 6 subsequently challenged the appropriate orders at court. This is a proof of the Commission’s professionalism and the high level of trust put in it by the professional community,” — noted Vadym Kizlenko.
The participants discussed the issues of professional training, ethical standards, liability of insolvency receivers, as well as practical cases of protecting their rights.
The VI Restructuring and Bankruptcy Forum is a specialized annual event, tailored for the attorneys, insolvency receivers and representatives of public authorities in order to discuss the newly adopted regulations and a variety of issues in the sphere of restructuring and bankruptcy.
