Vadym Kizlenko, Counsel of Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm, Insolvency Receiver, Member of the Disciplinary Commission of Insolvency Receivers of Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the Insolvency Committee of Ukrainian Advocates’ Association, delivered a report entitled “Ethical standards of the insolvency receiver profession” at the boutique conference called “The Code of Ukraine on Bankruptcy Procedures and insolvency receivers: shifting of scenes or the new era?” within the framework of the IV Judicial Forum. The event took place on 14 May 2021 in Kyiv and was hosted by Ukrainian Advocates’ Association.
Vadym Kizlenko put a stress on the importance of the legislation improvement as far as impartiality of insolvency receivers was concerned and commented on the process of expert study of the new version of the Insolvency Receiver’s Professional Ethics Code.
“For me, professional ethics is all about the rules of the game, which may not be abused in any circumstances. We may assume various interpretations of the legislation, but we must stick to universal ethical standards over the course of our work,” — noted Vadym Kizlenko.
The conference participants discussed the liability of the bankrupt enterprises’ management, limits of the beneficiaries’ liability according to provisions of the Law of Ukraine “On Business Companies” and the Code of Ukraine on Bankruptcy Procedures, as well as criminal and civil liability of insolvency receivers.
The Judicial Forum by Ukrainian Advocates’ Association is an annual event, hosted by the Association in order to discuss modern state and perspectives of Ukraine’s judicial system. Its participants include deputies of the Parliament, the Government officials, judges, insolvency receivers, partners and counsels of law firms and attorneys.
