Roman Protsyshyn Acts as an Arbitrator at the First National Cross-Examination Moot Competition

Roman Protsyshyn, Attorney at Law, Counsel at Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm, acted as an arbitrator in the final moot arbitration of the first National Cross-Examination Moot Competition among students, members of the Kyiv branch of the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA). Together with the Ukrainian Arbitration Association, the event was held on 28 May 2023.

The National Cross-Examination Moot Competition aims to improve cross-examination skills including correct practice of cross-examination, development of tasks, witness role, and case file analysis. The competition was attended by students from Ukrainian universities and practising lawyers from the Ukrainian Arbitration Association.

Roman Protsyshyn acted as an arbitrator in international arbitration student competitions under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. As part of the competition, law students served as witnesses representing the claimant, a state defence company, and the defendant, a private company that operates in the arms trade.

The European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) is an international organisation that unites law students and lawyers interested in professional and personal development. ELSA was founded in 1981. The organisation is represented in 43 countries and has over 50,000 members.
