Olena Omelchenko, Partner, Attorney at Law and Head of International Trade Practice at Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm, held a seminar on trade defence instruments with Ukrainian diplomats headed by Yevhenii Yenin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, which took place on 22 July 2021 in Kyiv.
The seminar participants discussed the problems of and prospects for the development of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Ukrainian and international practice of trade defence.
“Special attention should be paid to the defence of Ukrainian producers in the foreign markets, – Olena Omelchenko noted. – The exchange of practical experience and knowledge will help Ukrainian diplomats gain access to the new markets and defend the interests of the national exporters and Ukrainian producers in the international arena”.
The event was aimed at familiarizing the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the main instruments and procedures of trade defence, as well as with the current anti-dumping, countervailing and safeguard duties in the national and foreign markets.
