Oleh Trokhymchuk, Attorney at Law, Counsel at Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm moderated the session “Administrative justice” at the IX International Judicial and Legal Forum, which was held in Kyiv on 15-16 June 2021.
The participants discussed the role of administrative court procedure in Ukraine and the process of its evolvement, the particularities of the consideration of cases, namely the discretion and effective protection of rights, as well as current trends in the judicial practice.
“The administrative court procedure has been in existence in Ukraine for 16 years. Its role is highly important because administrative court is the place where the individual persons and legal entities have the opportunity to protect their rights violated by the official authorities,” Oleh Trokhymchuk pointed out. “And although the administrative court procedure has its flaws and needs to be improved, it can be confidently stated that it has successfully established itself in Ukraine.”
Among the speakers at the forum were the first deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, judges of the Cassation Administrative Court within the Supreme Court, ex-chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court of Ukraine, Rector of the National School of Judges of Ukraine, judge of the Mykolaiv Administrative Court, lawyers etc.
IX International Judicial and Legal Forum is an annual academic and research event organized by the Yurydychna Praktyka Publishing House. Its participants are represented by members of the judiciary and the legal community who meet to discuss topical issued, legislative novelties and prospects for the development of the legal sphere.
