On 10 September 2021, Nina Bets, Head of Tax Practice at Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm, held a webinar on How Has the Tax Legislation Changed over the Summer. The event was organized by the educational platform for entrepreneurs SME ONLINE Hub, created by the Unlimit Ukraine project of European Business Association (EBA) and Raiffeisen Bank Aval.
Nina Bets told which information about business entities can be obtained through the access to financial statements, about making settlements through the payment terminals and about specific aspects of individual entrepreneurship: payment of unified contribution by the self-employed, taxation of income after the sale of personal movable property and consequences of non-return of financial assistance after the termination of business activities.
Nina reminded that the tax amnesty in Ukraine started on September 1 and provided advice on how to prepare for it.
“The tax amnesty applies not only to oligarchs, but also to people having average incomes. It is expected that after the tax authorities have dealt with all the special declarations, they will inspect the assets of those Ukrainian residents who did not take advantage of the simplified procedure, – said Nina Bets. – Anyone who cannot prove the payment of taxes on income used to acquire these assets will be charged an additional tax liability not at the preferential rate of 5%, but at the rate of 18%, plus penalties of 25% of the additionally charged liability.”
The webinar was attended by more than 500 entrepreneurs being the participants of the SME ONLINE Hub project.
SME Hub is an intensive educational program allowing small and medium-sized business owners to acquire the necessary knowledge and practical skills to successfully do their business in Ukraine and abroad from the professional business practitioners of large corporations.
