Roman Marchenko, Senior Partner of Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm, won the nomination for the Lawyer of the Year in Arbitration. The winners of Legal Awards 2021 were announced on 4 June 2021.
Roman Marchenko has been awarded the Legal Award in the field of arbitration for the second time in five years.
Having an extensive expertise in the field of dispute resolution and international arbitration, Roman Marchenko is one of the strongest attorneys in the international disputes resolution in Ukraine.
Since 2001, Roman Marchenko regularly participates in international arbitration proceedings as an arbitrator. He has been appointed as an arbitrator in LCIA, ICC, LMAA, SCC, and a number of special arbitrations, including the arbitration commissions in Ukraine. Roman Marchenko’s practice in the field of international arbitration includes the activities as a sole arbitrator and as a member of an arbitration tribunal, as well as mediation and preparation of expert reports. Roman Marchenko is included in the leading arbitration lawyers’ rating Arbitration Powerlist: CIS & Caucasus 2020 compiled by The Legal 500.
In 2021, the Legal Awards were given in 52 nominations; the representatives of more than 65 Ukrainian law firms competed to get one. In total, about 300 nomination forms were submitted for consideration by the Nomination Commission. The event was organized by the Yurydychna Praktyka Publishing House.
