Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm accompanied the signing of the first 5-year contract of State Enterprise Antonov within the framework of the Strategic Airlift International Solution (SALIS) program. According to the contract, Antonov gives NATO and EU the right to use their planes.
The previous contract under the SALIS program was signed in 2019 for three years. This year, for the first time, the contract was signed for 5 years.
The Corporate practice team of Ilyashev & Partners, led by Partner Roman Marchenko, advised State Enterprise Antonov through the negotiations and supported preparation of documents for the deal.
Under the terms of the agreement, Antonov provides strategic airlift in the interests of NATO and EU. Two AN-124-100s are constantly in the customer’s disposal, additional airplanes are provided by request. Legendary AN-22 Antei and AN-225 Mriya are used to perform some missions by the program as well.
There are nine countries participating in SALIS: Belgium, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, The Czech Republic, Germany, Norway, Hungary and France. In May, Ukrainian transport aircraft under the SALIS program were involved in the transportation of German military equipment from Afghanistan. Last year, Ukrainian cargo planes were actively used to transport medical cargo during the coronavirus pandemic outbreak.
