The lawyers of Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm advise on tax matters the Czech Development Agency during implementation of the project on construction of premises for the educational institutions evacuated from the zone of armed conflict in the east of Ukraine. Although the Czech Development Agency does not have a permanent representative office in Ukraine, in 2014 the Czech government allocated the additional budget to the Agency for humanitarian projects for the period 2014-2016 in connection with the armed conflict in the east of Ukraine.
In addition to the activities aimed at systemic reform of the Ukrainian education system, the Agency provides financial support to the educational institutions evacuated from the east of Ukraine. The estimated budget for the project is CZK 21.5 mln.
Recall that the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine reported that 17 state universities were evacuated from the zone of armed conflict. Most equipment of the institutions remained in the same places and was lost.
About the Czech Development Agency (CzDA)
The Czech development Agency (CzDA) was established in 2008 as an implementing body of the Czech Development Cooperation primarily focused on design and execution of bilateral development projects. The agency reports to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The main tasks of CzDA are to identify, formulate, implement and monitor projects in priority partner countries, to award grants to NGOs.
