The counsels of Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm Valeriia Gudiy and Leonid Gilevich delivered speeches at the Employment Compliance: Practical Tools to Eliminate Corruption Risks seminars held in November-December 2019 in Mykolaiv, Mariupol, Lutsk, Cherkasy and Khmelnytskyi with the support of the Ukrainian Network of Integrity and Compliance (UNIC).
The purpose of the events was to show the importance of employment compliance as a tool for doing modern business.
“The importance of compliance as a tool for combating corruption in labor relations is difficult to overestimate, – noted Leonid Gilevich. – Even in context of imperfect legislation the employers can independently ensure that the effective measures are in place to reduce corruption risks, in particular, by drafting the necessary internal documents, conducting periodic legal audits and using other compliance controls. This will ultimately lead to better protection of the rights and interests of the employers themselves and their employees”.
The representatives of public authorities, local government and local businesses also delivered their speeches at the seminars.
Previously, the experts of Ilyashev & Partners, together with UNIC, prepared a package of recommendations to the Government of Ukraine to improve the implementation of the state policy in the field of labor relations regulation and to prevent corruption in the work of public authorities.
