Experience

Having a strong background in both dispute resolution and international arbitration work, co-founder of Ilyashev & Partners Roman Marchenko has increasingly emerged as one of the strongest practitioners in the international dispute resolution in Ukraine. Each year Roman supervises over 500 disputes in Ukraine and abroad, in which the firm acts as an advisor.

Since 2001 Roman Marchenko acts as an arbitrator in the international arbitration proceedings on a regular basis. He was appointed as an arbitrator for LCIA, ICC, LMAA, SCC, a number of ad hoc arbitrations, including arbitral panels in Ukraine. As an arbitrator Roman Marchenko covers Aviation, Shipping, Energy & Natural Resources, Real Estate & Construction, Infrastructure sectors with geographical focus on Ukraine, England and Wales, EU and USA. Roman’s International Arbitration practice includes acting as a sole arbitrator and as a part of Arbitral Tribunal, mediation, conciliation, expert determination.

Roman Marchenko is officially certified to act in bankruptcy cases of state-owned enterprises and business entities, in the authorized capital of which more than 50 percent of the shares (participation interests) belong to the state.
