Roman Protsyshyn, an Advocate and Counsel at Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm, became a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
CIArb grants its membership only to experts who have successfully completed the CIArb courses and assessments or confirmed their substantial professional experience in alternative dispute resolution. CIArb sets high qualification requirements for candidate members, as membership in the organisation indicates the highest professional level and is an international recognition of a specialist’s expertise in alternative dispute resolution worldwide, regardless of the candidate’s country of origin.
Roman Protsyshyn obtained CIArb’s Member grade membership by demonstrating to the institute his over 15 years’ experience in international dispute resolution and having received recognition of his skills and knowledge in arbitration from experienced dispute resolution practitioners who are Fellow Members of CIArb and witnessed his effective work in arbitration proceedings as lead counsel, representing his clients.
This is a significant recognition of Roman’s international arbitration experience.
Roman Protsyshyn specialises in advisory and international commercial and investment arbitration dispute settlement concerning national and cross-border litigation in the international transfer of military and dual-use items, energy infrastructure, banking and finance, civil aviation, foreign investment protection, and sports.
Roman represented clients in over 50 international arbitrations conducted under all major arbitration rules, including Vienna Rules, LCIA, ICC, GAFTA, FOSFA, LMAA, UNCITRAL, ICAC, Swiss Rules, etc., concerning multi-million, high-profile and landmark disputes involving arms-producing and military services companies, banks, airlines, and leading manufacturing companies. Roman Protsyshyn protected the interests of Ukraine in the first inter-state arbitration under the rules of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
“CIArb’s membership is professional recognition of experts in effective dispute resolution across the world. I do not intend to stop and will try to gain experience as an arbitrator to make my own contribution to the development of alternative dispute resolution and be worthy of privileged membership in the organisation,” said Roman Protsyshyn.
CIArb is an independent and charitable organisation founded in the United Kingdom in 1915 as the Institute of Arbitrators. CIArb was granted a Royal Charter by Queen Elizabeth II in 1979. The organisation’s purpose is to promote, develop and facilitate the use of all forms of effective dispute resolution and the benefits it brings to society and economies across the world.
