Roman Marchenko, Attorney at Law and Senior Partner of Ilyashev & Partners, moderated the session “Modern challenges facing the judicial management bodies” at the VII International Judicial and Legal Forum held on June 12 in Kyiv.
Roman Marchenko pointed out that the issues of judicial management concern judges only on the face of things: the final beneficiaries of the judicial management are lawyers, and ultimately, the society.
The discussion covered new priorities for training the judiciary staff members, the subject of access to the profession of a judge, recent tendencies in the practices of the High Council of Justice, the current state of ensuring the guarantees of the independence of judges, the issue of ensuring the inevitability of punishment for crimes committed against justice, the role of judicial communication in restoring trust in the judiciary as well as in strengthening the stature of justice.
The VII International Judicial and Legal Forum is a traditional academic and research event organized by the Yurydychna Praktyka in partnership with judicial management bodies, the High Council of Justice and the Judicial Qualifications Commission of Ukraine, as well as OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine.
