Oleksandr Fefelov, Head of Antitrust and Competition Practice, attorney at law at Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm, acted as moderator at the session “Industry markets: current trends” at the II Ukrainian Antitrust Forum held in Kyiv on June 10. The event was organized by the Yurydychna Praktyka Publishing House supported by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.
During the session the participants discussed the new statutory requirements on protection of competition, and modern development trends of law enforcement practice of industry markets. The experts also spoke on special aspects of anti-competitive behavior in the tourist services market, discussed regulation of the retail fuel market and antitrust investigations in the pharmaceutical market.
The speakers at the session were the AMC representatives, the government relations manager of Shell in Ukraine and the Director of Legal Affairs and Government Relations of NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine”, the external legal advisors – partners of law firms.
Summarizing the session, Oleksandr Fefelov noted that significant, and in some aspects even revolutionary changes, have taken place recently in the legislation on protection of economic competition. Not only adoption of the long-overdue regulations, but also significant change in work approaches of the regulator – the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine are important. Activities of the AMC become really much more open and understandable.

II Ukrainian Antitrust Forum was attended by more than 100 lawyers, legal advisers, people’s deputies, judges, representatives of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, and top managers of companies. The event was organized by the Yurydychna Praktyka Publishing House.
