Mikhail Ilyashev, Managing Partner at Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm, was elected to the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine. The elections were held at the XL General Assembly of the NOC of Ukraine on 14 December 2023.
On 1 March 2023, Mikhail Ilyashev was elected as the President of the Ukrainian Fencing Federation, which governs Ukrainian fencing. During 2023, the Ukrainian Fencing Federation strongly protected the rights of Ukrainian athletes at international competitions and appealed against the resumption of the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions sponsored by the International Fencing Federation (FIE) as part of qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games.
The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine is a public organization that is responsible for the participation of Ukrainian athletes in the Olympic Games, acting in accordance with the provisions of the Olympic Charter. The NOC of Ukraine unites 40 Olympic sports federations.
