Mikhail Ilyashev Elected to the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine

News date: 8 October 2026

Mikhail Ilyashev, Managing Partner at Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm, was elected to the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine. The elections were held at the XLIII General Assembly of the NOC of Ukraine on 6 October 2026.

The new composition of the governing bodies of the NOC of Ukraine will serve during the 2026–2030 Olympic cycle. Among the NOC’s priority tasks for this period are the systematic preparation of the national team for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles (USA) and the protection of the interests of Ukrainian sports in the international arena.

During 2023–2026, the Ukrainian Fencing Federation and Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm actively protected the rights of Ukrainian athletes in the international arena, appealed against the resumption of the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions sponsored by the International Fencing Federation (FIE), and initiated the first-ever appeal in the history of the NOC of Ukraine to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne challenging the decision of the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee to provisionally reinstate the rights of the Russian Olympic Committee.

Ilyashev & Partners provides legal representation to the NOC of Ukraine on a pro bono basis.

The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine is a public organization that is responsible for the participation of Ukrainian athletes in the Olympic Games, acting in accordance with the provisions of the Olympic Charter. The NOC of Ukraine unites 40 Olympic sports federations.
