Mikhail Ilyashev, Managing Partner at Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm, President of the Ukrainian Fencing Federation, was elected to the Legal Commission of the European Fencing Confederation (EFC) for 2024-2028.
The voting on approval of the EFC Commission composition took place during the EFC Executive Committee meeting. The election results were announced on 26 October 2024. In the elections of EFC governing bodies, 32 national fencing federations took part.
The EFC Legal Commission, consisting of 6 representatives of national federations who have a law degree or are practicing lawyers or judges, verifies the Confederation’s legal documents. The EFC Legal Commission prepares proposals for amending the EFC Statutes and Internal Rules for approval by the EFC Executive Committee and Congress.
Ukraine’s representative joined the EFC Legal Committee for the first time in the organisation’s history.
The European Fencing Confederation is an international organisation founded in 1991, responsible for fencing promotion and development in Europe. The Confederation unites 46 member countries and carries out missions in Europe assigned by the International Fencing Federation (FIE) to strengthen and develop cooperation between national member federations, coordinating and improving fencing teaching in Europe.
