Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm, which has been protecting the interests of Ukrainian cement producers, initiated an anti-dumping investigation of imports of Portland cement and clinker to Ukraine from the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Moldova. Further to the consideration of a complaint filed on behalf of the Ukrainian national producer by a team of International Trade Practice at Ilyashev & Partners, which is headed by Olena Omelchenko, on 4 July 2018 the Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade uphold the decision on initiation of an anti-dumping investigation.
“Presently we are being actively involved into the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine trying to prove the threat of infliction of injury to the national producer of dumped imports to Ukraine, – said Olena Omelchenko, the Head of International Trade Practice at Ilyashev & Partners. – We will provide all the necessary information to save jobs in Ukraine and attract investments into the cement industry”.
In order to ensure fair competition and protect Ukrainian producers from dumped imports, an anti-dumping duty on imports of cement from the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Moldova may be introduced subsequent to the results of the anti-dumping investigation. The anti-dumping investigation will be conducted in the course of 12-18 months.
