Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm was appointed as Ukrainian legal advisor on regulatory issues concerning introduction by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the global trade association for airlines headquartered in Canada, of a new payment system EasyPay between its member airlines and travel agents.
Senior Partner Roman Marchenko, who heads firm’s top-notch Aviation Practice team, said: “Our legal advice helps to ensure that EasyPay is launched and operated in full compliance with all applicable local regulations with respect to licensing or registration of IATA in Ukraine.”
IATA EasyPay is a new payment method that will be globally available to all IATA-accredited travel agents for the issuance of tickets. IATA EasyPay provides travel agents with an additional low or no cost payment option when purchasing air tickets for their clients in addition to the existing cash and credit card streams.
Firm’s legal services on the project include legal advice concerning Ukrainian law and practice in respect of financial services and payments, general corporate advice, preparation of Regulation of IATA Representative Office in Ukraine.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) represents some 290 airlines or 82% of total air traffic. IATA supports many areas of aviation activity and help formulate industry policy on critical aviation issues.
