On March 2, 2018 the lawyers of Moscow Office of Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm held a seminar for journalists on “Internet resources blocking: how to achieve it and how to avoid it”. The Head of Moscow Office Vladimir Zakharov and lawyers Dmitry Konstantinov and Ruslan Mannapov prepared reports on the most eagerly sought questions about Internet resources blocking by Roskomnadzor.
The participants addressed matters related to the reasons for web-sites blocking, the blocking mechanisms and measures that can be taken to reduce the risk thereof. The speakers also told journalists about the firm’s experience in the Internet resources blocking and provided practical advice on the personal data management. Journalists raised a large number of questions and, together with lawyers, analyzed real cases from their journalistic practice.
Media professionals have positively responded to the Ilyashev & Partners’ initiative and expressed their desire to transform such events into regular meetings. At the end of the seminar all journalists received memos on web-sites blocking and a copy of presentation delivered by the lawyers.
